For today’s Thursday Picture, I thought that I would try converting one of my color shots into Black and White. This picture was taken on the Aquila Loop Trail in the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve just east of San Jose/Silicon Valley.
I tried to find a spot on the trail that had several different natural elements. I like how the shadow of the oak tree is projected to the hillside. I’m wondering if I should have tried to lighten up the foreground just a bit. What do you think?
Where are you hiking this weekend?

I love it! Great B&W object and I think the foreground is fine like this 🙂

Thanks! I really like this shot in black and white. I’m going to have to do some more B&W experimentation!
